• Qing Shu Yi Qi Tang I = "Clear Summer-Heat and Augment the Qi Decoction"

signs and symptoms: High fever, profuse sweating, fidgety, thirst, scanty and dark urine, fatigue.
tongue and pulse: Pale or red tongue and feeble, rapid pulse.
indications: Summer-Heat and Yin Xu (Deficiency). With the appropriate presentation, this formula may be used in treating conditions conventionally diagnosed as common cold in the summer, heat-stroke, and fevers of unknown origin.
cautions and contraindications: Contraindicated in cases with Damp Summer-Heat.
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 20 grams: watermelon peel (xi gua cui yi).
» 10 grams: oryza (jing mi).
» 9 grams: ophiopogon (mai men dong).
» 6 grams: lotus stem (he geng), dendrobium (shi hu).
» 3 grams: American ginseng (xi yang shen), anemarrhena (zhi mu), bamboo leaf (zhu ye).
» 1 gram: coptis (huang lian), licorice (gan cao).
