tou wei = head corner; head tied
Jiao Hui Intersecting point of the Foot Yang Ming (Stomach) and Foot Xiao Yang (Gall Bladder) channels; point of Yang Wei Mai (Yang Linking Vessel)
location: 0.5 cun anterior to the hairline at the corner of the forehead, 4 cun lateral to the midline. If it is indistinguishable, the hairline is considered to be 3 cun above Yin Tang.
actions: expels Wind; clears Heat; brightens eyes
indications: psychosis; frontal and migraine headache; head feels broken or crushed; dizziness and vertigo; facial paralysis; pain above eyelids; loss of sensation in face; pain in the eyes, "as if fit to burst from their sockets" (Ellis, et al, 1988, p. 118), or feeling as if eyes had been torn out; excess tearing of eyes; eyelid spasm; loss of visual acuity; photophobia; conjunctivitis; gingivitis; dyspnea
needle technique: oblique insertion superiorly or inferiorly, 0.5 - 1.0 cun, producing local pain and a sensation of distension spreading laterally
