Dan Shen Yin = "Saliva Decoction"

signs and symptoms: Abdominal or epigastric pain which may radiate upward, angina, stuffy sensation in the chest, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, constipation.
tongue and pulse: Purple tongue body with purple spots, with hesitant pulse, or wiry/taut and tight pulse.
indications: Xue Yu (Blood Stasis) and Qi Stagnation in the Middle Warmer. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as angina pectoris, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, hepatitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, and dysmenorrhea.
cautions and contraindications: Contraindicated during pregnancy and in cases with any active bleeding or hemorrhagic disorder.
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 15 grams: salvia (dan shen).
» 3 grams: sandalwood (tan xiang), cardamon (sha ren).
modifications:
» for angina pectoris and dyspnea due to coronary disease, take with Trichosanthes, Bakeri and Pinellia C. (Gua Lou Xie Bai Ban Xia Tang).
