Prevention
Habits: smoking, condom use, sexual contacts
Immune statusdiet, exercise, mental / emotional.
Treatment
A. TCA 80%
1. Inform patient of 2 - 5 minutes of local discomfort.
2. Apply with cotton swab.
3. Allow first application to evaporate (30 seconds), then continue
to apply in layers until the lesion turns white.
4. Paint clitoral lesions last.
5. Hasten drying by fanning or heat from lamp.
6. After drying, apply cold paper towels to soothe.
7. Avoid TCA contact with non-involved skin.
(Absorb run-off immediately; protect with petrolatum or zinc oxide.
B. Podophylline in benzoin 25%
1. Shake bottle well to suspend podophylline in benzoin.
2. Apply to affected areas with cotton applicator.
3. Allow to dry with fanning or heat from lamp.
4. Avoid contact with uninvolved skin.
5. Wash off in 3 - 5 hours.
6. Use C1 below if client is pregnant or late for menses.
C. Topical ointment (especially for flat condyloma)
1. Contains Vitamin A, Thuja, Lomatium.
2. Apply twice daily.
D. Electrocautery
E. Adjunct Naturopathic treatment
1. Beta Carotene (150,000 - 200,000 units per day).
2. Vitamin C (6 grams per day).
3. Immune supportive diet and lifestyle.
4. Lomatium Isolate (5 - 8 drops twice daily).
5. Botanical formula to be taken 30 drops TID
