Jing Well, Metal and Entry point of the Hand Xiao Yang (Triple Warmer) channel
location: On the ulnar side of the 4th finger, 0.1 cun proximal to the corner of nail.
actions: dispels Wind; clears Heat, esp. from the Large Intestine and Triple Warmer channels; drains Fire; revives consciousness; opens the sensory Orifices; benefits the tongue; moistens the throat; eliminates Toxins; frees the channels and invigorates the collateral vessels
indications: heatstroke; fever, esp. high fever without sweating; pyrexia; cholera; malaria; Summer-Heat diseases; headache; deafness; tinnitus; conjunctivitis; reddening of the eyes; pterygium; blurred vision; dry mouth; parched lips; tongue stiff, curled or flaccid; tonsillitis; laryngitis; swollen and/or numb throat; anorexia; vomiting; forearm painful and unable to raise
needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.1 - 0.3 cun; prick to bleed in cases with Triple Warmer Heat congesting the Upper Warmer
moxa: 1 - 3 cones of direct moxa
