Jing Well, Metal and Entry point of the Hand Tai Yang (Small Intestine) channel
location: On the ulnar side of the little finger, 0.1 cun proximal to the corner of the nail.
actions: disperses Wind; clears Heat, esp. from the Small Intestine; clears Heart Fire; moistens dryness and revives consciousness; opens the sensory Orifices; stimulates the breasts and promotes lactation; clears Obstruction from the channels, esp. of the breast; general sedating effect; relieves inflammation of mucous membranes
indications: Wind-stroke; convulsions due to Heat, esp. in children; loss of consciousness due to fever; collapsing syndrome; fever and chills with no sweating; headache; deafness; tinnitus; pterygium; epistaxis; tongue stiffness; dry mouth; tonsillitis; sore throat; neck stiffness and pain; mastitis; insufficient lactation; agalactia; chest pain; shortness of breath, esp. on exertion; jaundice; diarrhea; polyuria; pain in ribs; torticollis; brachial neuralgia; pain along posterior-lateral aspect of upper extremity
needle technique: perpendicular or slanted insertion, angled slightly toward wrist, 0.1 cun; or prick with pyramid needle
moxa: 5 - 10 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
