non fat corn chips

• ingredients:
1 package corn tortillas (the thinner the tortilla the better)
any combination of the following spices: cumin, turmeric, chili powder, sumac, cayenne pepper, salt, herbal salt substitute

• method:
1. Cut corn tortillas into 4 quarters.
2. Lightly spritz with a fine spray of water; see note.
3. Combine spices in a clean plastic bag, total amount equaling 2-3 tbsp. Add quarters of tortillas, a handful at a time, fill bag with air, twist top and shake to coat the tortillas with spices.
4. Bake in a 325° oven for 5-7 minutes watching carefully so as not to burn. Chip is done when all the moisture is baked away and chip becomes crisp. Store in an airtight container.

• note: keep a spray bottle clean and reserved for kitchen food use; also useful for misting air-popped popcorn with half water and half tamari, then dusting with spices: curry powder, dulse, nutritional yeast
