definition

image: Close your eyes. Breathe in and out three times relaxing the head, neck and shoulders with the first breath, the chest, back and bottom with the second and the hips and legs with the third. Wander through your mind until you find the image of a garden, one with a flowing stream nearby and open fields beyond the stream. Take a moment to contemplate this picture before you enter it entirely, smell the earth and the sweet breezes, listen to the bubbling of the water from the stream. Wander through the rows of rich growing things, look at the delicate colors and veins in the leaves and petals, the strength of the stalks, the moistness of the soil, it's humus nourishing the rootwork. As you move from plant to plant among the rows, let yourself imagine what it is like to be each kind of growing thing. Coming to know the needs of opening and the powers of being deeply rooted, the new-birth attractiveness of being a perfect flower, the ripening wait of fruiting splendidly and the crowning pride of watching the new seed sprout. Go through these experiences many times with many different kinds of plant. Each time gain a fresh perspective and feel yourself change within as each perspective enables you to understand something more about your living self. When enough such changes have occurred, know that it is time to cross the water and call to your beloved one to join you in the field. When at last you have achieved the other side and your beloved one has joined with you, lie down together in the open field and commune together mind to mind, letting the both of you marvel at and explore all that has been learned. Realize that now both of your bodies are changing under the gentle impact of this understanding and feel glad. Let the knowledge come to you that the two of you have become the crop that has seeded the entire field and that this joined together crop of yours is growing rapidly and well. Take a moment to feel wonderful about all of this, then allow your eyes to slowly open once again. (Chavez)
