dietary guidelines

eating principles:
• elimination/rotation diet, rotation diet, rotation diet expanded

therapeutic foods:
• foods rich in Silicon (Jensen)
• foods rich in Vitamins A and B-complex
• black bass, rye, avocados, sea vegetables, whey, apple, cucumbers, millet, rice polishings, rice bran, sprouts (Jensen, p. 63)
• cabbage (also externally as a pack)
• huckleberry (externally as a pack)
• potato, broccoli, dandelion, mung bean, seaweed, pearl barley, adzuki beans, cornsilk, water chestnuts, winter melon, watermelon (Ni, p. 126)

fresh juices:
• carrot, celery, spinach, and parsley (Walker, p. 135)
• carrot
• carrot, beet, and cucumber (Walker, p. 135)
• spinach (Walker, p. 135)
• carrot, celery, lemon (Jensen, p. 63)
• cucumber, endive, pineapple (Jensen, p. 63)

specific remedies:
• dandelion and cornsilk tea (Ni, p. 126)
• mung beans and pearl barley tea (Ni, p. 126)
• seaweed and winter melon soup (Ni, p. 126)
• adzuki beans, pearl barley, and cornsilk tea, and eat solids, three times daily (Ni, p. 126)

avoid:
• food intolerances of baby and, if breastfed, mother
• dairy, meat, alcohol, hot sauces, spicy foods, fried foods, fatty foods, rich foods, salty foods, stimulating foods, coffee, caffeine


supplements

• biotin (Nisenson, 1972)
• folic acid 2 mg per day (Callaghan, 1967)
• Vitamin B12 10-30 mcg IM weekly for 3 weeks (Andrews, 1950)
• Vitamin E (Block, 1953); esp. if patient using diaminodiphenylsulfone (Dapsone): Vitamin E protects RBCs from hemolysis induced by the strongly oxidative influence of Dapsone (Prussick, et al., 1992; 128: p. 210-213)
