signs and symptoms

signs and symptoms:

course and prognosis

While most cervicitis is benign, if left untreated cervical changes (dysplasia), spontaneous abortion, spread of infection to uterine tissue or adnexa, or sterility may occur.

If a true infection is the cause (e.g. gonorrhea) then the conventional treatment consists of antibiotic therapy.

differential diagnosis

• Nabothian cyst.
• Carcinoma.
• Chancre.
