sixth chakra:
The bowl configuration of the skull encourages the expansion of the energy of this center, which is located in the center of the forehead and associated with intuition. Some yogis working with this chakra focus awareness at the back of the skull and 'look through' the chakra and through the forehead from the inside out, much as we look through our normal eyes from inside our heads. (Smith, p. 56)
Corresponding to the 'third eye', this center represents vision and inner vision, which are crucial to human fulfillment. It relates to the pituitary, which in turn stimulates the dream state, a state which affords us vision beyond the realms of ordinary waking consciousness. COLOR IS INDIGO, KEYNOTE IS A. (Serinus, p. 169)
The brow represents the spiritual will to be. It embodies the imagination, dreams, visions, and the creation of original thought. It relates to Idealism and altruistic thoughts. It fuses the creative intellect of the throat with the focus of the heart to establish the true purpose, spiritual unification. The ajna chakra is the distributor of imagination and intelligence. It uses ideas as keys to open the imagination which facilitates the creation of the ultimate reality. Rules the pituitary, hypothalamus, lower brain, ears, left eye, and nose. (Easley)
Pituitary plexus: Cerebral function; center of the subjective self; also represents our conditioning. The pituitary center is the communication link with the cognitive energy field. (Van Gelder)
