Phellodendron C. = Zhu Yin Qiang Huo Tang.

signs and symptoms: Fever without sweating, dry cough, viscid sputum, night sweats, asthma, dry mouth, dry stools.
tongue and pulse: Weak pulse.
indications: Yin Xu (Deficiency) with Empty Fire Blazing and Phlegm. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as tuberculosis, acute and chronic bronchitis, acute and chronic pyelitis, diabetes, pleurisy, and nocturnal emission.
cautions and contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with pallor, sweating, coughing with profuse sputum, gastrointestinal weakness and a tendency towards diarrhea.
ingredients: dosage for one day:
» 3 grams: white atractylodes (bai zhu).
» 2.5 grams: Chinese angelica (tang kuei) (dang gui), asparagus (tian men dong), white peony (bai shao yao), ophiopogon (mai men dong), prepared rehmannia (shu di huang), citrus (chen pi).
» 1.5 grams: licorice (gan cao), anemarrhena (zhi mu), phellodendron (huang bai).
