Pinellia and Ginger C. = Sheng Jiang Xie Xin Tang = "Fresh Ginger Decoction to Drain the Epigastrium"

signs and symptoms: Acid regurgitation, eructations, dry heaves with a foul odor, borborygmus, and diarrhea.
tongue and pulse: Thin, yellow, greasy tongue coat and wiry rapid pulse.
indications: Stomach Heat and Fluid Accumulation; or Stomach Qi Xu (Deficiency) with Food Stagnation. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as gastroenteritis, sour stomach, gastric distention, and diarrhea.

ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 9 grams: pinellia (ban xia), fresh ginger (sheng jiang).
» 6 grams: scute (huang qin), ginseng (ren shen).
» 3 grams: coptis (huang lian), honey-baked licorice (gan cao), jujube (da zao).
