dietary guidelines

eating principles:
• a short fast is recommended

therapeutic foods:
• garlic, pumpkin seeds, raspberries, coconut, onions, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, nectarines, pomegranates, rutabagas, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds (Ni, p. 163)

specific remedies
» pinworms:
• on empty stomach in morning, eat 100 raw pumpkin seeds, then fast 5 hours and follow with fresh carrot juice, next day repeat it necessary (Shefi)
• peel carefully raw garlic clove and be careful not to nick, then insert into rectum before bed (Shefi)
• eat 1 tbsp raw pumpkin seeds ground into powder with warm water twice in morning an hour apart, every day for l week (Ni, p. 163)
• take white part of green onion and make into juice, add 1 -2 tsp. sesame seed oil and take twice daily on empty stomach for 3 days (Ni, p. 163)
• eat sunflower seeds every morning on empty stomach (Ni, p. 163)
• eat garlic every morning on empty stomach (Ni, p. 163)

specific remedies
» tapeworm: eat 4 oz. coconut flesh, fresh in the morning on empty stomach then do not eat for 4 hours, every day for one week or until passage of tapeworm (Butt and Bloomfield, p. 156)

» roundworms:
• 1 lb. saltwater eel, 1 pt. rice wine, some salt. Boil until reduced by half. Eat 8-10 oz. with a little vinegar (cider or rice). Do this 3 times weekly (Butt and Bloomfield, p. 153)
• drink the juice of one fresh coconut; eat 4 oz. of the flesh in the morning on an empty stomach then do not eat for 4 hours. Do this per day (Ni, p. 163)
• At bedtime, eat 250 g sour papayas and drink 60 g of the vinegar in which papayas have been soaked, for 3 consecutive days (Lu, p. 73)
