Cinnamon, Aconite and Ginger C. = Gui Zhi Fu Zi Tang.

signs and symptoms: Perspiration, fever, aversion to cold, headaches, frequent urination, general annoying pain in the body, no thirst, muscular rheumatism, gout, arthritis.
tongue and pulse: Floating and weak pulse.
indications: With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as muscular rheumatism, gout, and arthritis.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients: dosage for one day:
» 4 grams: cinnamon twig (gui zhi).
» 3 grams: jujube (da zao), fresh ginger (sheng jiang).
» 2 grams: licorice (gan cao).
» 0.5 grams: aconite (fu zi).
administration: If after taking this formula, the stools become firm and the urination becomes normal, the excess fluid in the system has lessened through vaporization. At this point the cinnamon twig (gui zhi) is omitted and atractylodes (bai zhu) is added to strengthen the Spleen and remove any further excess fluids, to become Atractylodes and Aconite C. (Bai Zhu Fu Zi Tang).
