definition
qing ling = youthful spirit; blue-green spirit
location: 3 cun above Ht-3, in groove medial to biceps, with the elbow flexed; Ht-2 is 2/3 the distance from the axillary crease to Ht-3.
actions: regulates Qi and Xue (Blood) and facilitates their flow; clears Heat; expands and relaxes the chest; frees the channels and invigorates the collateral vessels
indications: aversion to wearing clothes; dislike of cold; shivering; headache, esp. frontal; jaundiced eyes; distension of the hypochondriac region; thoracic feeling of congestion and constriction, esp. upper and middle portions; intercostal neuralgia; shoulder and arm stiffness or paralysis; pain and inflammation of the axilla; neuralgia and spasm of arm
needle technique: no needle according to some, but 0.3 - 0.5 cun, perpendicular insertion, to others (Ellis, et al, 1988, p. 166); 0.8 - 1.0 cun, perpendicular insertion (Zhang, 1986, p. 162)
moxa: 3 - 7 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 15 minutes of indirect moxibustion with a pole
