zu qiao yin = foot hole yin; (foot) extreme yin

Jing Well and Metal point of the Foot Xiao Yang (Gall Bladder) channel

location: On the lateral side of the 4th toe, 0.1 cun proximal to the corner of nail.

actions: regulates Yin-Yang, opens the Orifices, and resuscitates the senses; clears Heat; drains Fire, esp. from the Gall Bladder; extinguishes Wind; removes Liver Qi Stagnation; replaces trace elements (Finkelstein, p. 71)

indications: dysphoria; anxiety; insomnia; excessive sleep; excessive dreaming; dreams haunted by ghosts; headache, usually unilateral; deafness; tinnitus; visual dizziness; eye pain; mouth dry; stiffness of the tongue; throat numb; pharyngitis; difficulty breathing; asthma; lateral costal pain; difficulty raising arm; feverish sensation of the palms and soles; inflammation of the dorsum of the foot; no perspiration

needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.1 - 0.2 cun, producing local soreness and distension; prick to bloodlet

moxa: 2 - 3 cones of direct moxa; 3 - 5 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
