If it is not possible to buy organic, the following recommendations may help you minimize your risk to pesticide residue:

eat as usual wash wash thoroughly special handling

bananas cabbage (1) cauliflower apples (5, 6)

corn cucumbers (2) cherries broccoli (5, 7)

grapefruit (4) eggplant grapes carrots (3)

melons peppers green beans celery (8)

oranges (4) tomatoes lettuce peaches (5, 6)

potatoes pears (5, 6)

strawberries spinach (5, 7)

1. discard outer leaves

2. peel, if waxed

3. peel

4. do not eat peel; for grated peel, buy organic

5. buy organic if possible

6. peel if your diet is rich in fiber

7. cut or chop, place in large bowl of water with a drop of dish detergent, agitate, then rinse thoroughly

8. trim the leaves and tops
