dietary guidelines
eating principles:
eat as little as possible
increase foods rich in Vitamin C and A
avoid heavy protein foods, fats, meats, vinegars, shellfish, sugars
increase fluids
short fast (see Fasting in materia medica)
fresh juices:
carrot (Walker, p. 145.)
carrot and spinach (Walker, p. 145)
carrot, celery, parsley, and spinach (Walker, p. 130.)
carrot, beet, and cucumber (Walker, p. 130.)
specific remedies:
take 100 g carrots, 100 g coriander and 100 g chestnuts. Add water and simmer until carrots are tender. Drink broth as a tea several times a day. (Chao-liang, Qing-rong, Bao-zhen, p. 13.)
cover 10 g each of mung beans, adzuki beans, black soybeans and 3 g licorice root with water and simmer until the beans are cooked. Serve a small amount three times daily for 1 week (Chao-liang, Qing-rong, Bao-zhen, p. 74.)
» For itching:
bathe in oatmeal bath, put oatmeal into cheese cloth bag and tie with string. Hang under faucet or float in water in tub. (Shefi)
put honey directly on scabs (Bricklin, p. 73.)
put Vitamin E oil directly on spots (Bricklin, p. 73.)
