He Sea Lower Uniting point of the Xiao Chang (Small Intestine); Sea of Xue (Blood) point with Shang Ju Xu (St-37) and Da Shu (UB-11)
location: 3 cun below Shang Ju Xu (St-37), I cun below Tiao Kou (St-38), or 9 cun below Du Bi (St-35), one finger breadth lateral to crest of tibia.
actions: improves flow of Xue (Blood); clears Heat and resolves Damp; regulates Intestines and Stomach; clears the bowels; transforms Stagnancy; sends warmth (Fire) into the Bladder channel (and into all the Shu Associated points as a result) as well as into the Kidney via the internal duct (Finkelstein, p. 21)
indications: mania and withdrawal; cerebral anemia; pervasive aches and pains throughout the body; excessive salivation; pharyngitis; tonsillitis; mastitis; intercostal neuralgia; lower abdominal pain or distention; diarrhea and dysentery; muscular atrophy; backache referring to testis; pain, paralysis and/or motor impairment of lower limbs; swelling and pain in the shin; unable to perspire; loss of hair
