Xi Cleft Accumulation point of the Foot Tai Yin (Spleen) channel
location: 3 cun below Yin Ling Quan (Sp-9), posterior to the tibia, on the line connecting Yin Ling Quan and the medial malleolus..
actions: regulates and tonifies the Spleen (especially Qi); promotes circulation of Qi, esp. in Spleen channel, and Xue (Blood); stimulates the Stomach; regulates, harmonizes and invigorates the Xue (Blood) to move Xue Yu (Blood Stasis) and reduce pain; regulates and adjusts the Uterus; regulates menstruation, esp. moves hesitant menstrual flow; stops leukorrhea; stabilizes Kidney Qi; halts spontaneous seminal emission; induces diuresis
indications: intermittent fever; edema; anorexia; abdominal and flank distention; ascites; colic; hemorrhoids; diarrhea; infertility; irregular menstruation; abnormal uterine bleeding; dysmenorrhea; amenorrhea due to Xue Yu (Blood Stasis); leukorrhea; nocturnal emissions; spermatorrhea; urinary incontinence; difficult urination; coldness and pain of the lower back and knee
needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 1.0 - 1.5 producing distention and soreness, possibly spreading throughout the lower leg
moxa: 3 - 7 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 15 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
