location: On the posterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, lateral from the laryngeal prominence, 0.5 cun behind Fu Tu (LI-18)
actions: pacifies the Shen and Heart; dispels Wind; nourishes the Heart; invigorates the channels and collateral vessels
indications: mania; ataxia; hemiplegia; unilateral uncoordination; headache; aphonia; deafness; tinnitus; swollen jaw; acute muteness following stroke; sore, swollen throat; tonsillitis; limited cervical rotation; spasm of jaw and shoulder; neck tilting to one side; stiff neck; neck and shoulder pain/tension; intercostal neuralgia; anal fistula
needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.3 - 0.6 cun, producing a local sensation of soreness and distension, possibly spreading up the neck and down the shoulder
moxa: 2 - 3 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 10 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
