signs and symptoms: Tendency towards diarrhea in cold weather, soft stools, undigested food in the stools, watery stools, weak abdomen.
tongue and pulse: Floating, wiry and weak pulse.
indications: Chronic enteritis and persistent diarrhea in weak constitution. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as chronic enteritis, ulcerative colitis, chronic diarrhea, tendency toward rectal prolapse in the winter, and chronic proctitis.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients: dosage for one day:
» 4 grams: poria (fu ling).
» 3 grams: Chinese angelica (tang kuei) (dang gui), ginseng (ren shen), white peony (bai shao yao), red atractylodes (cang zhu), cnidium (chuan xiong).
» 2 grams: setaria (su ya), cinnamon twig (gui zhi).
