Dao Tan Tang = "Guide Out Phlegm Decoction"

signs and symptoms: Fainting or coma, vertigo with headache, or an accumulation of phlegm that will not dissipate; stifling sensation in the chest and diaphragm, poor appetite, vomiting, restlessness when sitting or lying down, coughing and wheezing with copious sputum, difficulty breathing, thick and sticky nasal discharge and saliva.
tongue and pulse: White, greasy tongue coating, and slippery pulse.
indications: Collapse due to Phlegm. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as chronic bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema, goiter, and obesity.
cautions and contraindications: Contraindicated for vertigo from either Liver Yang Rising or from Xue Xu (Blood Deficiency).
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 6 grams: arisaema (zhi nan xing), chih-shih (zhi shi), pinellia (ban xia), poria (fu ling).
» 3 grams: citrus (chen pi), licorice (gan cao).
