Jing Well, Wood, Horary and Entry point of the Foot Jue Yin (Liver) channel
location: On the lateral side of the big toe, 0.1 cun proximal to the corner of nail.
actions: pacifies the Shen; opens the Orifices; resuscitates the senses; disperses Wind, esp. acute; frees the channels; regulates and tonifies the Liver, esp. Qi and Xue (Blood); warms the Liver; promotes and stimulates the Qi of the Liver and Gall Bladder channels; clears and disperses the vicious Yang; relieves Obstruction of Liver to disperse the Depressive Qi; regulates the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) and Ren Mai (Conception Vessel); harmonizes the Ying (Constructive) Qi; contains the Xue (Blood), i.e., stops bleeding, by cooling and clearing Heat in the Xue (Blood); regulates menses; relieves pain of Cold-Hernia (D); resolves Damp-Heat, esp. in the Lower Warmer; relieves Obstruction in the Lower Warmer (-)
indications: coma; unconsciousness; fainting; headache; stomach pain; unilateral lower abdominal pain and/or swelling; blood in stool; pain from hernia; irregular menses; uterine or vaginal prolapse; polymenorrhea; metrorraghia; abnormal uterine bleeding, esp. due to Xue (Blood) Heat; pruritus vulvae; genital swelling; gonorrhea; orchitis; penile or scrotal pain, inflammation and/or contracture; frequent urination; urinary tract infection; hematuria; urinary incontinence; difficult urination; low back pain; gout; excessive perspiration
needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.1 - 0.2 cun, or oblique insertion, 0.1 - 0.3 cun, producing localized pain
moxa: 3 - 7 cones of direct moxa, esp. to contain the Xue (Blood); moxibustion contraindicated during pregnancy; 5 - 15 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole

» after GV-1 for Small Intestine Qi pain (Ellis, et al, 1988, p. 334);
» with Sp-6 stops bleeding and captures blood back into the channels (+); removes Obstruction in the channels (D) (Finkelstein, p. 72);
