dietary guidelines

eating principles:
• if on a regular diet, try a vegetarian diet high in vegetables and complex carbohydrates. If on a vegetarian diet, try a fruit and vegetable diet or a short fast

therapeutic foods:
• increase foods that cool the Xue (Blood) and clear Heat
• mung beans, daikon radish, carrots,
• foods rich in Vitamins A, B-complex and C, Zinc
• black bass, rye, avocados, sea vegetables, whey, apple, cucumbers, millet, rice polishings, rice bran, sprouts (Jensen, p. 63)

fresh juices:
• lemon juice in water on empty stomach in morning (Shefi)
• carrot
• celery (Shefi)
• apple (Shefi)
• lettuce and dandelion (Ni, p. 39)
• parsley (Ni. p. 43)
• carrot, celery, lemon (Jensen, p. 63)
• cucumber, endive, pineapple (Jensen, p. 63)

specific remedies:
• 4 oz. mung beans and 2 oz. raw brown sugar boiled in 1 1/2 pt. of water until reduced to half. Eat and drink (Butt and Bloomfield, p. 119)

avoid:
• meat, alcohol, hot sauces, spicy foods, fried foods, fatty foods, rich foods, salty foods, stimulating foods, coffee, caffeine


supplements

• cod liver oil 2 Tbsp per day (J. Am. Acad.,1980, p. 222)
• Vitamin A in large doses (Arch Derm., 1980, p. 888) (Austin, 1987)
• quercetin 500 mg three times daily
• Zinc 30 mg per day
• bromelain 500 mg three times daily
