Lily C. = Bai He Gu Jin Tang = "Lily Bulb Decoction to Preserve the Metal"

signs and symptoms: Coughing, throat pain, hemoptysis, wheezing, hot palms and soles, night sweats.
tongue and pulse: red tongue with little coating, and thin, rapid pulse.
indications: Lung Dryness due to Lung and Kidney Yin Xu (Deficiency). With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as pharyngitis, hoarseness, hemoptysis, coughing and wheezing, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, spontaneous pneumothorax, cor pulmonale, silicosis, and pulmonary tuberculosis.
cautions and contraindications: Modify in cases with Spleen Xu (Deficiency) or Food Stagnation to prevent indigestion or diarrhea. Contraindicated in cases with Exterior conditions or Shi (Excess) syndromes.
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 9 grams: prepared rehmannia (shu di huang).
» 6 grams: lily (bai he), raw rehmannia (sheng di huang), ophiopogon (mai men dong), white peony (bai shao yao), scrophularia (xuan shen), fritillaria cirrhosa (chuan bei mu), Chinese angelica (tang kuei) (dang gui).
» 3 grams: platycodon (jie geng), licorice (gan cao).
