eating principles:
Diet high in protein. Should get at least 100 g of protein.
Diet high in potassium and low in sodium
Consider following ABO blood-type diet (DAdamo)
Low fat diet
Low sugar
High complex whole carbohydrates

Low cholesterol/cholesterol foods
Low Sodium/Sodium-restricted diet
Increase foods rich in Magnesium, Potassium and rutin

specific remedies:
for Edema in Pregnancy :
steam 250 g gold carp with 90 g small red beans until beans are soft. Eat 5-7 times (Lu, p. 151)
prepare 125 g fresh peanuts, l0 red dates, 30 garlic cloves thinly sliced, and 15 g peanut oil. Heat a wok or fry pan over high heat; pour peanut oil into wok and stir-fry the garlic; then add peanuts and dates with l liter water; boil until peanuts are very soft. Eat 7-10 times. (Lu, p. 151)
boil l liter water and add l00 g black soybeans and 30 g sliced garlic cloves and 30 g brown sugar; boil over low heat until the soybeans are fully cooked. Eat 5-7 times (Lu, p. 152)
soak l00 g small red beans overnight; next day, boil in 3 cups water until beans begin to break. Drink as soup (Lu, p. 152)

general:
Vitamin B6 20 mg per day may prevent (Wachstein, 1956) 800 mg per day if pre-eclampsia has developed, also consider IM (Marz)
Calcium 1-1.5 g per day (Villar, 1983)

Omega-6 fatty acids (for hypertension) (O'Brian, 1985)
Magnesium 1500 mg per day for a 150 lb. woman consider 200 mg MgCl2 (10 cc of 2% MgCl2) and Vitamin B6 600 mg IV (Marz)
Pre-eclampsia and Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy
Prevention:
Calcium: 1500 mg total
Magnesium: 800 mg or to bowel tolerance (check ionic magnesium)
Vitamin B6: 50-100 mg per day
High-potency multivitamin/mineral supplement, not over 20,000 IU per day of retinol total food and supplement

Pre-eclampsia and Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy
Treatment:
Vitamin B6: 100 mg three times daily (can also use P5P form of B6)
Magnesium: consider higher oral dose or IV magsulfate 2-3 g along with vitamin B6 500 mg (can repeat daily as needed)
Dandelion tincture: 35 drops. three times daily
