signs and symptoms: Joint pain, numbness, spasms, headache, dizziness; hemiplegia, difficulty in walking, and aphasia.
tongue and pulse: Full/firm pulse.
indications: Wind Attacking the Extremities. With the appropriate presentation, may be used in conditions conventionally diagnosed as stroke, monoplegia, shoulder bursitis, palsy of the hands and feet, trigeminal neuralgia, and senility.
cautions and contraindications: Contraindicated for either Wind Stroke due to Liver Wind Stirring, or for Hot Bi Syndrome.
ingredients: dosage for two days:
» 10 grams: lindera (wu yao).
» 6 grams: cnidium (chuang xiong), angelica (bai zhi), ephedra (ma huang), platycodon (jie geng).
» 3 grams: silkworm (jiang can), chih-ko (zhi ke), citrus (chen pi), dry ginger (gan jiang), licorice (gan cao).
