location: In the depression distal and inferior to the medial malleolus, midway between the tuberosity of the navicular bone and the anterior tip of the medial malleolus.
actions: stimulates posterior lobe of pituitary (Finkelstein, p. 27); effects the tongue; strengthens the Spleen and Stomach; transforms Damp Stagnation and Damp-Heat; relaxes muscles, sinews and tendons; relieves spasms (esp. along Spleen channel); stimulates the channels
indications: lassitude; sadness; hyperactivity in children; dreams of ghosts; frequent sighing; beriberi; edema; headache; swollen face; pain and stiffness at the root of the tongue; breast pain; jaundice; indigestion; vomiting after dietary overindulgence, esp. habitual; stomachache; gastritis; enteritis; colic; abdominal distension, esp. due to Deficient Spleen; intestinal noises; diarrhea; constipation; flatulence; hemorrhoids; yellow urine; sterility; hernia; pain along inside of thighs; spasms in feet
needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.3 - 0.5 cun, or transverse insertion,1.0 - 1.5 cun, joined to St-41, producing soreness and distension of the ankle

» with Kd-21, UB-66 for a predilection towards vomiting (Shanghai, p. 288);
» with St-25 and Sp-9 for chronic enteritis (Shanghai, p. 288);
» with St-36 strengthens Spleen and Stomach and dissolves Water and Damp (Finkelstein, p. 27);
