Jiao Hui Intersecting point of the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) and Foot Xiao Yin (Kidney) channel; Shokanten of Jue Yin (Yosio Manaka as per Mann, p. 48)
location: 0.5 cun lateral from the anterior midline on the abdomen, 4 cun superior to the umbilicus, level with CV-12.
actions: harmonizes the Stomach; strengthens the Spleen; regulates the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) and Ren Mai (Conception Vessel); facilitates Qi flow, esp. in the abdomen
indications: dysphoria; malaria; chills and fever; conjunctivitis; painful reddening of the eyes spreading from the inner canthus (Ellis, et al, 1988, p. 259); melancholia under the chest; full feeling in the lungs; heat and pain in the lateral costal region, esp. due to Rebellious Qi; vomiting; belching; sense of melancholy and distress below the heart (Mann, p. 48); abdominal pain and distension; gastritis; gastric or duodenal ulcer; jaundice; borborygmi, including humming sounds; flatulence; difficult evacuation; infertility
needle technique: perpendicular insertion, 0.2 - 2.0 cun, producing local pain and a sensation of distension
moxa: 3 - 7 cones of direct moxa; 5 - 30 minutes of indirect moxa with a pole
