signs and symptoms: Reduced visual activity and blurry vision, worse with exertion and better with rest; sore and weak low back and legs.
tongue and pulse: Thin, frail pulse.
indications: Liver and Kidney Xu (Deficiency) with Dampness.
cautions and contraindications:
ingredients:
» 150 grams: cuscuta (tu si zi).
» 120 grams: prepared rehmannia (shu di huang).
» 60 grams: plantago seed (che qian zi).
preparation: Grind the ingredients into powder and form into pills with honey. Take 6-12 grams before meals with a soup made from poria (fu ling) and acorus (shi chang pu). May also be prepared as a decoction by reducing the dosage to about one-tenth of that specified above.
