Zuo Gui Wan = "Restore the Left (Kidney) Pill"

signs and symptoms: Vertigo, tinnitus, sore and weak low back and legs, night sweats, insomnia, hearing loss, loss of teeth and hair, dry mouth and throat, thirst.
tongue and pulse: Red, shiny tongue, and thin, rapid pulse.
indications: Kidney Yin Xu (Deficiency). With the appropriate presentation, this formula may be used in treating conditions conventionally diagnosed as diabetes, Addison's disease, low back pain, and infertility.

ingredients:
» 240 grams: prepared rehmannia (shu di huang).
» 120 grams: dioscorea (shan yao), lycium fruit (gou qi zi), cornus (shan zhu yu), cuscuta (tu si zi), antelope horn gelatin (lu jiao jiao), tortoise shell gelatin (gui jiao).
» 90 grams: cyathula (chuan niu xi).
preparation: Grind the ingredients into powder and form into pills with honey. Take in 15 gram doses twice a day with salted water. This is a stronger version of Zuo Gui Yin which is used in more severe cases. It is prepared in pill form because this type of disorder usually requires long-term treatment.
