image: Close your eyes. Breathe in and out three times. Focus the fullness of your awareness and the point of your attention upon the position of your body within your bed. Notice everything that you can notice with your eyes closed. What can you hear? Where are your feet? At what angle do you hold your legs? Your arms? Your head and neck? Allow yourself to remember, in reverse order, just exactly what movements of your body got you to the here and now of your rest in bed. Continue to let your evening roll back through the video of your mind in reverse, rewinding through your preparations for retiring and your evening's duties and entertainments back through your evening's meal; and whatever came before and what came before that, back through the whole of your day, in the most exquisite and exacting detail of which you are capable. Remember to re-hear every random sound and every snatch of music overheard and every word of every conversation that you have engaged in, throughout the day. All in reverse until the moment of waking and entering into your waking world. When you have finished this rewind review, begin again at the end of your day and go back through every event that you have remembered and examine it closely to see if all went as you would have wished. At every point in the memory that you did poorly by your own estimation, consider how it would have been if you had done it differently, and then make corrections in the video of your mind accordingly. When at last this process is finished, run the revised record of your day through quickly and allow yourself to learn for the future from these corrections of your own admitted mistakes. Let yourself enjoy a deep and gratifying satisfaction from having done so and then allow yourself at last to drift into well- earned sleep. (Chavez)
