definition
character typology of Reich and Lowen:
CHARMING/MANIPULATIVE (PSYCHOPATH 2):
etiology: Same as Tough/Generous (Psychopath 1: Child led to believe that its' needs are not as important as parents' needs; mother may be domineering or seductive - serious injury or illness may also create sense of being overwhelmed. Child feels powerless and put down by parent.)
characteristics: Similar to Tough/Generous (denies feelings, minimizes being overwhelmed; ignores feelings of others; wants respect; deceptive, indirect, and opportunistic; trades image for reality; status oriented, manipulative), but with gentle manner, cooperative; outwardly submissive, often seductive, apologetic, cunning, manipulative; undermines others.
physical appearance: Similar to Tough/Generous (aggressive/angry movement, large upper body, little energy in lower half; voice soft, sweet, seductive, may mumble; holds breath statically in chest), but gentler, softer and more seductive in appearance and movement.
strengths: Similar to Tough/Generous (leaders, powerful speakers, charismatic, generous, entertaining, charming, cool under fire, good with words), but with a softer and more charming manner.
life orientation: Same as Tough/Generous ("I can be independent if I do not give up control." Must dominate and control all relationships and cannot form a close relationship).
