definition

Disorders of the human energy centers:

• Disorders arise in the chakras in response to emotional shocks, traumatic accidents, continued psychological pressure, stress factors, chemical poisonings, drugs, etc. When trauma occurs to the centers, a disease pattern will occur in one of three manners:

Congestion: inability to respond or react resulting in immature attitudes, poor development, and self-centered behavior

Overstimulation: over reactive, highly motivated, easily aroused, excessively enthusiastic; active; failure of the body to maintain the necessary stamina

Incoordination: loss of synergism between two centers, loss of balance
(Easley)

• If unimpeded energy flow through the chakras is the key to optimal health, it is obvious that attitudes and fears and anxieties that impede the flow can be just as damaging as actual physical injury to an organ. (Schwartz, p. 18)

• Once a disease process or imbalance in the body is established it becomes autonomous. Even though the problem may be contrary to the greater general health and balance of the individual, the problem has its own existence and is part of a larger process. There is a balance and interface between the 'health' and the 'illness' and because of the autonomy of an established illness or imbalance, it also 'wants' to exist. The issue of prevailing over disease and regaining health is therefore a process of recognizing its independent existence, respecting it, and lovingly helping it to leave the body. (Smith, p. 176)
